Antler stain by Knoblochs is used for restoring that natural color to antlers. This stain allows you to build up the desired color gradually to a reddish brown that will not fade. This antler stain is alcohol based and can be thinned with water.
Test a small amount to the backside of the horn to check desired effect. thin stain with water in cup if too dark.
If horns or antlers are patched or very porous, paint them with a latex house paint that has the bone color of horns. Let the paint dry for several days, then gradually build up thin layers of stain.
